Turmeric Dried Rhizome Slices, Aromatic Spice

Description

Turmeric Rhizome Slices

Turmeric rhizome slices are a widely recognized spice ingredient commonly associated with the Curcuma genus of the ginger family. These dried slices bring a warm, earthy profile to a range of savory dishes and spice blends, with a distinct golden hue that defines many classic recipes.

Turmeric Rhizome Slices Appearance

The dried slices show a deep golden-yellow to amber color with a matte, slightly fibrous surface that reflects light softly. Each slice is cut into thin, uneven rounds or partial pieces with firm, clean edges, and the cross-section reveals the dense, layered structure of the dried rhizome.

Botanical Background

Turmeric rhizome belongs to the Zingiberaceae (ginger) family, a plant group known for aromatic, fleshy underground stems used across global culinary traditions. It has long held a central place in South and Southeast cooking, valued for both its flavor and its characteristic golden color in dishes.

Culinary Uses of Turmeric Slices

Dried turmeric rhizome slices work well in slow-cooked curries, broths, and spice infusions where their flavor and color release gradually during cooking. They can also be added to pickling brines, rice dishes, and homemade spice blends for a warm, aromatic depth.

Storage & Care

Store in a clean, airtight container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Proper storage helps preserve texture, aroma, and overall quality over time.
